For your digital painting you will choice what the subject matter will be. It could be an animal, landscape, portrait, or still-life. It is best to work from images. You will be using the pen tablet and choosing a painting style.
Procedures:
Choosing the subject and image you will be painting from. I prefer that you bring an image of your own. It can have a combination of images if you would like to be a little more creative.
Open image in Photoshop.
Layer setup. It is important to have layers organized and labeled well. Each object should be on separate layers as well as light, shadow, and base color.

Choosing a painting style. Something to think about is what kind of painting style you want to portray in your project. There is a painterly style, photo-realistic, and watercolor just to name a few. I have posted several links below to inspire you.
